ISCSI storage array needs to be refreshed every time VM server comes up (OVM 3.4.1)

User641568-OracleJun 22 2016 — edited Jun 27 2016

All,

I just set up a brand new OVM server (3.4.1) at home for self-education purposes. I am using 4x500 SATA-II drives on the same machine as the repository. I put those disks in software raid using mdadm, set the raid volumes as iSCSI targets, created storage arrays out of them in the VM Manager and finally added them to repository. All is well. But when I reboot the VM server, the storage array entries show "Warning". The repository shows the following events:

Severity: Warning - Description: OVMEVT_00A002D_003 Repository: myRep1, is missing in File System: 0004fb0000050000be7993f642482837

Severity: Critical - Description: OVMEVT_00A002D_002 Repository: [RepositoryDbImpl] 0004fb0000030000b9ef9c76cdba443a (myRep1), is unmounted but in Dom0 DB

All I need to do is to refresh the storage array entries, and all become well. I would like to, however, get the OVM server to boot up and run without having to rely upon an up and running OVM Manager for my day-to-day operations. So my questions are 1) what possibly is the reason for the need to refresh the storage arrays every time, 2) how can I address that issue, and, if no easy answers exist for the two questions, 3) how can I "automate" the refresh storage array command ** from within OVM server ** every time it comes up?

Appreciate your time and help in advance,

Thanks and regards,

Govardhanan.
