is there Sun Ray Software Client that runs on PC?

807578Sep 14 2009 — edited Sep 16 2009
I would like to someone explain more clearly how this Sun Ray technology works. Here is the related product listing: http://www.sun.com/software/index.jsp?cat=Desktop&tab=3&subcat=Sun%20Ray%20Clients. And there are 6 items:
1)Sun Ray 2 Client
2)Sun Ray 2FS Client
3)Sun Ray 270 Client
4)Sun Secure Global Desktop Software
5)Sun Ray Software
6)Virtual Desktop Infrastructure Software

With the first 3 items it is clear that they are hardware solutions which connect to the Sun Ray Server.

So,
1)Is "Sun Ray Software" the place where my "desktop OS" is actually running(in other words the server)?
2)Is there also a Sun Ray "Software Client" available that runs on PC?
3)I would like to try out APL(Appliance Link Protocol) without any special hardware(thin client) if possible. What would be the easiest way to set up this kind of deployment?

Regards,
Ansis
