is there hope after cannot find base html file basejpi.htm

Did anyone else trying to install forms 12.2.1.3 run into the "cannot find base html file basejpi.htm" upon trying to run a form?

doc 2247351.1 suggests following 2161797.1

which is really something where one is to direct things to some oracle domain name. If they meant substitute some other domain name they did not say that.

Very complicated. Anyway, it didn't work for me failing on the 16th step where I got

more errors (2) than the 1 error expected.

I got:

  • CFGFWK-60341: Calculated Machine Names or Machine and Node Manager is not configured.

Some Oracle Fusion Middleware Products require calculated machine names to be selected and Machine and Node Manager to be configured unless Front-End Host is used.

and

CFGFWK-40326: Invalid coherence server address.

I have a feeling that I'm going to totally have to start over from scratch. I hope there are some instructions on uninstalling all this.

Maybe a better question is this: under what circumstances would someone need to install forms as a production server? That introduces a massive bunch of complications that's way over my head and there's no motivation to deal with this level of complexity. All this is doing is making me look bad for taking so long to get this upgrade going. Could I deploy a forms server with it NOT a production instance? What is the difference? I want the 12c forms server to be like the v 11 one. weblogic and forms starts automatically with the machine (windows) and deploys forms, all the time, reliably with no baby sitting. Is there a reason I can't use the non-production install method? I have serious doubts that I will ever get this to work otherwise and I'm really not enjoying this.I've used forms since 1999 but this version is really getting on my nerves.
