Is there any document that ensure we can upgrade software of a V2 to the last versions of GI and DB

We have a V2 and now 2 Full X4 are coming. The question that customer is asking is "Can we have the same software , Grid Infrastructure and ORACLE_HOME, in same versions as X4?"

I know that we can. But is there any official documentation with that ?
