Is partitioning speed up insert, update, delete ?

Hi All,

One query i have that "Is partitioning speed up insert, update, delete ". as per my knowledge query will definitely speed based on pruning concept but would it be the same for DML operations?

I mean would it increase performance of DML like insert,update and delete by using partitioning.

Provided that volumn of data is huge here in case.
