We have a database that uses about 11TB of disk on SAN and is hosted on a machine with 16 Intel cores and 384GB RAM. The database supports about 400 users during the day and nightly batch processing takes >14 hours (which does not meet our SLA of 10 hours).
New servers are available with 4TB or more of RAM. Would there be an advantage to that much RAM vs. 384GB?
