Is it safe to raise stacksize above 8192 KB?

Hi,

Besides the fear of overlapping with heap(datasize) memory does it have any other disadvantage to set stacksize limit above 8192KB(default)?
And If Yes, Is it true for 64 bit OS (sparcv9) as well?
