Is it possible to use OIM LDAP sync (with oid ) and oid connector in the same time?

3165452Jan 19 2017 — edited Jan 22 2017

I have a scenario where i have to use oim ldap sync with OID for OIM OAM integration , meanwhile i have to use oid connector to populate guid to fnd_user table for EBS SSO

so OIM will be integrated with OID , 1- using ldap sync 2- using OID connector

the case i face so far that i can't link oid account with oim account

current flow

1- user recon from source using DBAT

2- user created on oim and oid (through ldap sync )

3- i run oid sync job i expect that a new oid resource will be  created for the user but  no , no oid resource created

any help how to make this link did i miss any configuration

Pl identify exact versions of "9i" and "Windows 7" - it is not a supported/certified combination.

It may work with the "Win XP" compatibility mode.

Pl indicate why you need to install a de-supported version of Oracle - what are you trying to achieve ?

Hi Zahid;

You can not use win7 home edition for any Oracle db product, its not certified. Also 9i is now unsupported version.

If you want to make oracle db installation use certified platform(win 7,xp linux etc) and use lastest version(if you dont have specific reason to use 9i)

Why are you fixated on an out-of-support version of Oracle? On a home machine, no less?

If this is just so that you have a platform to learn on ...

Every oracle professional (or student) should have their own private computer lab. I'm assuming in this day and age anyone in this catagory already has their own computer. Starting from there, you should do the following:

1 - Go to vmware.com and download VMplayer. VMware freely distributes this so your cost so far is zero. If you are willing to invest about US$185 in your career, buy VMworkstation instead. It will give you some additional management features above what VMplayer has. Either product will allow you to create virtual machines on your personal computer.
1a - Install the VM product

2 - Go to oracle.com and download Oracle Enterprise Linux. Oracle freely distributes this, only charging if you want a support contract. As they also provide a free public yum server for distribution of most packages, even a support contract is not needed for your personal use.
2a - using your vmproduct and your downloaded linux, create a virtual linux machine.

3 - Go to oracle.com and download whatever db or related product you want. The terms of the oracle license agreement allow you the full use of any product for personal study.

By doing the above I have a full computer lab running on my Windows 7 laptop, for a total cost of US$185 - and even that cost was because I chose to upgrade my VM from VMplayer to VMworkstation.

Sorry to ressurect a dead thread, but I thought this might help somebody.

I have successfully installed the Oracle 9i client on Windows 7 Enterprise by following the instructions:

1. Copy install media to local drive or USB drive (Not Network or CD) (necessary to change Compatibilty mode of installer)
2. Instead of running \setup.exe (as you normally would, and get the warning that it is not supported) browse to \install\win32\ and right click setup.exe.
3. Click on "Properties"
4. Click on the "Compatibility" tab and check the box that says "Run this program in compatibility mode for:" and I chose "Windows XP SP3"
5. Click OK on the setup properties dialog.
6. Double-click on \install\win32\setup.exe and proceed as normal.

I make no guarantees that your particular installation of the client will work for what you need, but mine did. Also, heed the warnings of the other posters regarding the supported nature of this product.

Hope that helps.
