Is it possible to update tables on remote server through dblink

Hi,

With the following configuration:

DB: 11g

Apex ver 4.2.6

Heterogeneous connectivity (ODBC) to SQL 2008 R2

I can read tables and execute statements through APEX.

I need to be able to execute DML commands within APEX forms but it fails.

Is this functionality supported over Heterogeneous connectivity?

If not, what other options I have? Maybe the Database Gateway for SQL?

BTW, I created views against SQL tables which failed as well.

Any ideas will be appreciated.
