Is it possible to recover a primary database using rman backup taken on standby

2834008Oct 27 2016 — edited Oct 27 2016

HI Guru,

In my firm  we have a dataguard environment . To offload I/O and CPU intensive backup process we are taking backup from standby side - and there is no backup configured on primary databases.

can we do a incomplete recovery on primary database by using this standby backup ?

let me more clear what I want to convey -

1. DROSB is my standby database  - and I have a full rman backup that we took yesterday.

2. DCOSB is my primary database - and we have no backup for that

3. Today at around 10 am one schema got accidentally dropped in DCOSB.

4. By using DROSB's yesterday's backup can I recover this table by doing a point-in-time recovery ?

Thanks in advance

Mahi
