is it possible to hide Messages log tab?

Hi friends,
I'm using SQLDeveloper 1.5.5
I'm trying to import data from a csv with 250K records.
I enter into table->Actions->Import Data and I chose the source file and columns. No problem with this.
The "problem" appears when the import begins... because It appears the messages log window/tab below in the screen showing the sentence "1 record inserted" for each one... and of course it delays a lot the insert process.
Anyway to hide this?
(Not possible for me use SQL*Loader/ODBC or similar to load the data)
