Is it necessary to use IIS or Apache?

Hi,
I am using the bundled version of JBoss-2.4.4_Tomcat-4.0.1
Is it necessary to use IIS or Apache even though I use only JSP/Servelt pages in my app.
I've NO static pages. Its a kind of accounting app.

I just want to know what are the performance issues with and without external web server.
