is farsi language supported in java while using database?

ive been trying to insert data to db in farsi language.
but all characters save by question mark (?).
im wonder if there is a deal with farsi and java,
by the way i used all tricks(utf-8,request.setCharacterEncoding("utf-8") method ,.........)
let me know what exacly problem is?
