is direct=y still an option in EXPDP in Oracle 12c

I am trying to increase the speed of my expdp jobs in Oracle 12c on an ODA server. Is direct=y still an option? I am getting these messages back when I try to use it as the last parm in the command.

Legacy Mode Active due to the following parameters:

Legacy Mode Parameter: "direct=TRUE" Location: Command Line, ignored.

Legacy Mode has set reuse_dumpfiles=true parameter.
