Is Create or Replace Index supported?

I happened to type 'create or replace index...' and found that it worked. I then went to look up whether 'or replace' is a supported option for 'create index' and cannot find anything that tells me it is. I don't want to use it if it's not supported. Does anyone know? I'm using Oracle Database 11g Release 11.2.0.3.0.
