IP Address validate - IPv6 + IPv4

Hi,
Could you let me know how to validate an IPv6 Address.

I could see for IPv4 its straight forward to validate; but for IPv6 there are many different Address modes (from RFC) ... is there any specific code for me to straightaway validate IPv6 address in Java.
