Io exception: End of TNS data channel

419029Apr 13 2004 — edited Apr 14 2004
Were running a 9.0.1 database on an AIX platform.

The majority of access to this database is via a JSP website. The JSP code works fine for a short time before we start getting the error 'Io exception: End of TNS data channel' returned to SOME of the webpages.

Stopping and starting the listener process on the AIX fixes the problem for another few minutes. The server is also running a 9.2.0 database, but making the 9.2 listener manage both databases still results in the same problems. Ive tried delivering the website from 2 different servers (one on the AIX itself, one remote) - with the same results

It looks like connections are being dropped of lost, but the fact that on one page some of the content is fetched from the database and other content not, suggests that there are not network problems.

Does anyone have any suggestions.
