Intermittent connection problems

Hi

I have a web service which reads and writes data to an Oracle database.

Every now and then I start getting the following errors:

ORA-1034: ORACLE not available
ORA-12541: TNS:no listener
ORA-03113: end-of-file on communication channel
ORA-12535: TNS:operation timed out
ORA-12547: TNS:lost contact
Connection request timed out

If I kill the aspnet_wp.exe process - off it goes again....... until the next time

Has anyone any ideas why this is happening - or more importantly - how I can fix the problem?

Client:
Microsoft .Net Framework 1.1
Oracle.Dataaccess.dll 9.2.0.401

Server:
Oracle8 Enterprise Edition Release 8.0.6.0.0 - Production
PL/SQL Release 8.0.6.0.0 - Production
CORE Version 4.0.6.0.0 - Production
TNS for IBM/AIX RISC System/6000: Version 8.0.6.0.0 - Production
NLSRTL Version 3.3.3.0.0 - Production
