Interfacing Java with Hardware security module

Hi All,

I called nCipher sales person and told her our requirements. Basically we develop a server that manages licenses for our company's documents e.g. sign/encrypt document, some sort of DRM.

I was told that I may need to purchase their JCA/JCE library implementation. Do we really need to purchase that? Does Java provide some free implementation to interface with the HSM? I remember programming Java with ikey 2032, I can simply pass in PKCS#11 as provider and it worked. Is it the same case as HSM?
