Interactive Grid - how to select a specific record (check APEX$ROW_SELECTOR)?

From an interactive grid I am calling a modal window passing an ID. With that ID I would like to select a row in the Interactive grid in the modal window. Is there any way to do it? Ideally it should scroll the IG to show the record with the passed ID and mark APEX$ROW_SELECTOR as selected.

Any idea or pointer to where to start is very appreciated.
