Interactive Grid dynamic action doesn't change value of hidden column

APEX version: 5.1

I have an onChange dynamic action to set the value for another column.

But the field only changes when it's a text field and not hidden.

Also the hidden field isn't set to Protected. Although even when it is, it doesn't complain.
