Integrating JDeveloper and Rational tools

I am investigating the possible use of RUP. Currently we are using Designer as repository and design tool. Assuming Designer will be replaced by JDeveloper in the future (am i right?), how is the integration between IBM Rational tools and Oracle JDeveloper?
