Instant Client on Windows

I know how to setup instant client on unix but I need to setup this on windows so that the dev can access the database using odbc, I just want to install the basic + odbc libraries and I have downloaded them too. But can anyone tell me what env varables do I need to configure on windows in order to get it working.

Mainly I want to configure one tnsnames.ora which I can refer while creating the DSN to use odbc.

Client: Win XP
Server: Linux + Oracle 10gR2
