Installshield problem

I am trying to install the 1.40 SDK but it keeps giving me this error message: "The Installshield engine (iKernel.exe) could not be launched. No such interface supported". The thing is, I have Installshield, and the folder contains ikernel, yet the SDK keeps saying that my computer doesn't support it. Any ideas why?
