Installing RAC on Virtual Box

Hi Gurus,

Can someone please help me with step-by-step installation of Oracle 11gR1 (or R2) RAC on Sun Virtual Box. I have got the following hardware:

Dell Laptop with core i3 processor, 4 GB RAM, 320 GB in-built HDD and 1 TB of extrenal drive with Windows 7 host O/s.

I need a minimum of 3 Virual machines to insall RAC. So, I created 2 VMs with OEL 5 on it along with sufficient hard disk on that. However, when I was unable to ping these machines with their private IPs, I stopped in between. I can ping these two machines with their physical IPs. I did create two eathernet adapters on these two machines and configured them manually with the IP addresses. Still that doesn't work. I was planning to install Debian on the 3 rd VM but the link I was following for help is no longer available:

http://www.rbti.com.br/Home/creating-rac-11g-using-virtualbox-2-and-windows-vista

I have done so far the follwoing:

1. Installation of two VMs compelete.
-- Machine Rac1.startoracle.com having IP 192.168.1.9 with 500 GB of HDD, 2 GB RAM and two adapters eth0 and eth1. Private IP set to 192.168.2.9. O/S OEL 5.4
-- Machine Rac2.startoracle.com having IP 192.168.1.10 with 250 GB of HDD, 1 GB RAM and two adapters eth0 and eth1. Private IP set to 192.168.2.10. O/S OEL 5.4

2. 3rd VM created on virtual box with 256 MB of RAM and 200 GB of HDD. No O/S installed yet.

Any guidance for the next step shall be greatly appreciated.

Abhishek Gupta
