Installing Oracle Database 10g on Oracle Linux 7.X

wgraydbaJul 19 2016 — edited Aug 10 2016

Hello all,

Now I know that this is not a supported installation but we are in the process of trying to migrate an older database to newer servers and my boss would like to migrate without performing an upgrade to the database just yet.  I was wondering if anyone was able to get a working installation of 10g (10.2.0.5.X) on Oracle Linux 7.X?  I know I can install it on OEL 5 but we have been upgrading all of our servers to OEL7 and were trying to avoid the need to install the older OS on newer servers.  I'm trying to convince my supervisor that we may need to upgrade to 11g first and then duplicate or create a standby database of the database on the newer server.  What are your thoughts?
