Installing Oracle 9i on Linux Cluster

449735Aug 10 2005 — edited Aug 10 2005
Hi,

I am involved in installation of Oracle 9i on Linux Cluster for one of our customers, the set up is as follows:

1) 2 Dell PE-7250(Itanium Processor) Servers having Red Hat Enterprise Linux 3.0 installed on them with cluster.
2) EMC SAN Box where all the Oracle Tables will be installed
3) Oracle9i to be installed on Linux Cluster in Failover/Active-Passive mode.

Customer is not procuring Oracle 9i RAC and wishes to Install Oracle9i in Failover mode.

My Queries are as follows:
1) Is Oracle 9i supported on Linux Cluster or do we need to have Oracle RAC only.
2) Will Oracle 9.2i work in failover mode.

Piush.
