I am running Oracle 10g xe on windows 8.1 64 bit os and the db is working well. I have Visual Studio 2008 installed and I 'm trying to install ODAC10203x64 to no avail. After extracting I run the install/setup.exe and got Oracle Universal Installer error: "Error in accessing system registry. You may not have enough permissions to modify registry. Installation cannot continue." Afterwards I ran the Setup.exe as Administrator and got another error: "Java(TM) 2 Platform Standard Edition binary has stopped working." I downloaded jre-8u40-windows-x64 from OTN and installed but same problem persist! Please how can I solve this problem? Best regards
