Installing JRE - out of disk space - but not really.. poor software

843798Feb 27 2004 — edited Aug 3 2006
Javaruntime environment (JRE 1.4.2_03) seems to need plenty of space on C:\-hard disk in Windows environment (Windows 2000). It is one of those simple minded installers which won't let user to define the path where it will be installed and it do neither tell how much the space it exactly needs. Very poor software installation from the user point of view.

So I am asking, how much space does it exactly need from C:\? Or is there any way to install it with only 40 MB on C:/? Could it be possible to install the main data to elsewhere than the same disk as Windows itself? And if not why??
