Installing JDK 1.5.... --> JDK5
Hi,
Im am trying to install the latest Java SDK (1.5....) on a Windows ME platform. I downloaded the combined package of Netbeans IDE and jdk 1.5.0 (file = jdk-1_5_0_02-nb-4_0-ml-win.exe).
When I try to install this, the netbeans go through OK but the moment the JDK1.5 starts, it opens a DOS command line window and gives me the "This program has performed an illegal operation blah die blah die blah...If the program consistently encounters problems ...Help, Trobleshooting...DOS programs..." error. Everything that I get from the Windows help seems to be in order. But I have to reboot my system to get going again.
Does anybody have any idea of what I can do to rectify the problem (ok, I can move on from ME but I have some financial shortcomings, so that might only be a last resort)
