installing jdbc driver

We recently upgraded oracle server on solaris from 9.2.0.4 to 9.2.0.7. I noticed that the ojdbc14.jar file (which is needed for an application) is not available in 9.2.0.7 OH/jdbc/lib, so I downloaded it from OTN. After this the appl was changed to refer to it in 9.2.0.7 OH, however the appl got an "ORA-24387 Invalid Driver attached" message. Do you know if I need to "properly" install the jdbc driver somehow through OUI? Or a copy directly into jdbc/lib like I did is good enough?

Also ojdbc14.jar is available for 9.2.0.4, 9.2.0.5 and 9.2.0.8. Anyone knows why it's not available for 9.2.0.7?
