installing indian rupee font in oracle 10g in linux environment

i use oracle 10g with forms and reports 9i . i have 2 application servers, one in linux and the other in windows 2003. while i am able to copy the new indian rupee font (Rupee_Foradian.ttf) in windows , i am not able to do so in linux. when i access my reports through windows 2003 i get the rupee font.

As seen from many forums regarding this issue, i did copy the font in uifont.ali which is in this path
ORACLE_HOME/guicommon9/tk90/admin . Yet i am not able to get it in oracle reports, whereas i am getting the font exhibited in linux open office document.

could any one suggest me the methods to get the new rupee font installed.
