Installation problems Windows 98SE Internet Explorer 6

Hello,

We are encountering problems to install the latest SUN JVM on Windows 98 SE with Internet Explorer 6. First, the testpage at java.com would keep displaying that the MS JVM is installed and when we removed the MS JVM, the testpage keeps proposing to download the SUN JVM.

When we accept to download it and we follow the instructions, the JVM does not get installed. The next time we try to test the jvm, the download popup appears again.

Checked many times the settings in internet explorer, and in the control panel as suggested on the website and sun jvm is selected on both places. The computer has also been restarted.

It seems the SUN jvm is still supported on Windows 98 SE. Is there anything else we can try to get the SUN JVM installed.
