Installation Problem Oracle 10g XE on Windows XP sp2

539895Sep 7 2008 — edited Oct 13 2008
Hi!

I want to install Oracle 10g XE on a Windows XP sp2 2Ghz 2Go ram 80 Go disk machine.
Evry thing seems to be Ok ... but it doesn't work!
First of all, http://127.0.0.1:8080/apex is not reachable. I verified with tcpview: no process listening on 8080. On services, both OracleXETNSListener and OracleServiceXE services are running.
Fortunately, I successfully installed and used it on my laptop, so I can compare both installations.
On C:\oraclexe\oradata\XE folder, there is no file while expected CONTROL.DBF SYSAUX.DBF SYSTEM.DBF TEMP.DBF UNDO.DBF USERS.DBF.
In C:\oraclexe\app\oracle\product\10.2.0\server\database\oradim.log file I found this:
ORA-01078: failure in processing system parameters
ORA-01565: error in identifying file 'C:\oraclexe\app\oracle\product\10.2.0\server\dbs/spfileXE.ora'
ORA-27041: unable to open file
while file spfileXE.ora is present in my laptop.
Many other log files let me think that installation didn't ends correctly.
On the same computer, I installed many other http and database servers and I never met any problem. I mean that the machine seems really to be fine.

Thanks in advance for your support.

Regards.
