Installation issue? Unable to launch the Java virtual machine

Greetings all,

I am installing Oracle SQL developer but I'm getting the following error when I try and launch it:

+"Unable to launch the Java Virtual Machine+
+Located at Path: C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jdk1.6.0_26\bin\msvcr71.dll"+

I am running windows 7 professional 64 bit, Oracle 11g, jdk1.6.0_26, and using sqldeveloper64-3.0.04.34-no-jre.
On first run of the SQL Developer it asked for the path to java, which I provided. That is when I got the above error message. Any assistance is greatly appreciated!!
