install Solaris 8 to work with Versizon DSL

Hi
having some problems trying to get my Sun Ultra 10 to work with Verizon DSL, the install seems to work OK, and during the install, I was able to access the internet from my Sun box, but after the install, it doesn't work anymore.
any suggestions on what I should check on ?
I gave it a IP address within the range of my linksys router.
domain name - I just gave it something bogus (does it matter ?)
nameservers - I got this from looking at the info from the linksys router
