install problem on linux
293134Jan 4 2007 — edited Feb 15 2007I have a beta version of sqldeveloper installed on a Linux Red Hat Ent Ed Update 4 Server with Oracle 10g 10.2.0.2.0 EE and have been using it for a few months with no problems.
I have downloaded the new release "Oracle SQL Developer for Multiple Platforms"
unzipped it into a new directory off of "/". I had a JDK install with the old version , because the old, beta version worked.
How ever when I try it start the new "Oracle SQL Developer 1.1 (1.1.0.23.64)
" version I get this error:
[oracle@localhost sqldeveloper]$ sh sqldeveloper.sh -J-Dsdev.insight=false

[oracle@localhost sqldeveloper]$
I have tried:
$sh sqldeveloper
and the above command.
What is wrong?
thanks.
As a sidebar I tried to get the rpm version of linux to work, I could do a
$rpm -Uvh *.rpm
and it would install. But nothing changed with my old beta version. What did I do wrong?
