Install Oracle 10g on Linux

571370Apr 12 2007 — edited Apr 12 2007
Is there a way to install Oracle 10g software on Linux without using a universal installer(the gui)? I believe, Universal Installer requires that you are in some sort of a XWindows or something,,,, and certainly not a telnet session.
I am using telnet to connect to my unix server and am physically on the box where I need to install Oracle. The software has been downloaded and all Pre-Installation setups have been complete including the DISPLAY.
Attempted to run the . ./runInstaller , and that's when I got the error message stating that I cannot be on a mere telnet.

Is there another way that I can install sitting in my telnet window ? If so, though I may have to go thru a lof of hassles like editting config scripts and so, am ready for it.

Thanks
