"install GI software only" vs "install and configure GI for cluster"

Hi,

What are the differences between "install grid infrastructure (GI) software only" option vs "install and configure GI for a cluster" option? If I select "install GI software only" option, what are the steps will make it equivalent to "instal and configure GI for a cluster" option? Does anyone have any ideas?
