Install Driver for NIC

807559Jan 7 2004 — edited Jan 9 2004
I just installed Solaris 9 x86. I am dual booting with w2k. I have a Netgear FA311/312 NIC. I have downloaded sfe-1.0.0.tar.gz to another w2k machine. This file is supposed to be the driver for my NIC. I do have a CD burner on the w2k-only machine. The size of the file is 114 KB. I am also a newbie to unix.

How do I get the file onto the solaris machine? Do I copy to a floppy and then convert the file to something that Solaris can understand? Do I burn the file to a cd? Whatever I do, I also do not know how to mount a drive. (Tech speak)

When I am able to get the file copied onto the Solaris machine, how do I install the driver?

Thanks.
