Insignia Jeode VM very slow on iPAQ 3970: alternatives?

Hello

We are making Personal Java applications for mobile devices, like iPAQ. We use insignia Jeode VM until 3870 version -StrongArm-, with very good performance.
But with iPAQ 3970 -XScale- is very slow. For Insignia, only solution is to purchase "Insignia Jeode Java Virtual Machine for Dell Axim X5". Dell Axim X5 has XScale inside. Then, Jeode VM included with compaq iPAQ 3970 doesn't work fine, because this version is prepared for StrongArm proccessors.

Wich is the better JVM alternative -price and performance- for XScale proccessors?

We know:

Jeode for Dell X5: about $50 (no evaluation download)
CrEme for XScale: about $20 (very good performance on XScale, problems with AWT)
