Inside the Master Detail Form

Hi gurus,
I try to undestand the Master (which holds primary key) Detail (foreign key) Form.

If you create a new record in the detail form , it gets automatically the foreign key from master primary key populated.

What is responsible for it?
I couldn't find it on the page definition
