Inserting data in excel to DB using SOA routine

Hello Gurus,

I'm new to SOA .

I have a requirement in which I need to insert data in an Excel sheet (.xls) residing on my desktop to a Database residing on a Linux server using SOA gateway.

Any idea how to go about it or if any of you could provide pointers on where to start that would be helpful.

Following are the softwares I've.

1. Jdeveloper 11.1.1.6.0
2. Oracle 11g R1 DB.

I'm doing this for learning purpose any help would be appreciated.
