Insert/update with interface
713539Jul 23 2009 — edited Jul 27 2009Hey Guys, sorry to do this cause I have already seen TOO many threads prefixed with "NEWBIE" but due to the absolutely terrible documentation of ODI and the fact I have been thrown into the product head first, I fear I must make this post (and yes, I have searched the DI forum).
I figure this is too simple which is why I can't find the answer. Here goes:
I have an Oracle source table and a SQL Server 2008 target table. Source data has records added daily, and historic records changed daily. I want to insert the deltas and update existing target records with changes to historic source records. Should be simple enough.
Being an informatica developer, I cannot see how to do this with an interface. Can it be done, and if not, only other option is a procedure? If so, what is the purpose of ODI if such simple mappings cannot be created? Sorry for my pesimism but this is a frustrating tool to use after Informatica and SSIS. Hope to warm up to it the more I use it.
