Insert Date Microsoft Acess Java

I've tried various ways to insert dates in MSAccess but it keepts throwing an error. I currently have
 s.execute("INSERT INTO Name(Category, Status, Date)VALUES('"+category+"','"+status+"', 3-14-2001)");
How do I insert dates into MSAcces?
