Inlined Date Picker doesn't trigger events for dynamic actions

Using 5.1.2.00.09

I have a dynamic event, which refreshes regions, 'on change' of a date picker.
It works fine with the default date picker, but once I set it's appearance to 'inline', it doesn't trigger any events any more.

Is there a workaround for this? Is this fixed in a newer version?
