Index Rebuild
Hello Friends,
I have a basic question. When do I really need to rebuild an Index in Oracle. I read an article long back by Thomas Kytes saying index rebuiliding needs a very careful analysis as sometimes index rebuild can destabilize the equiliabrium of the total index. Now I am not fininding that article, perhaps my foolishness did not prompt me to record that.
So could anyone of you give some good logic to help my question?
What should be an ideal senario to rebuild index in an Oracle database to improve performance of table scan!?
