index creation error with table

hello All,
our application has the following error

ORA-08102: index key not found, obj# 69144, file 10, block 1719

I have worked out the index and table but when I try and drop the index I get

ORA-02429: cannot drop index used for enforcement of unique/primary key

What is the best way to resolve this>
