I'm attempting to search the email body text within a Microsoft Outlook PST file, however I am having some difficulties. According to Oracle's documentation a PST file should be a supported document type of the AUTO_FILTER in Oracle Text. I have tried running my index with both the AUTO_FILTER and MAIL_FILTER parameters -- however the text from the emails does not appear to be searchable.
The PSTs I am importing all start with the following: !BDN-�M --followed by a series of unreadable characters.
I've tried .MSG files and those work just fine. I've ensured that the PSTs are not encrypted, as well.
Has anyone had any luck being able to index and search on PST files?
