Independence of the ASO and BSO Cubes in PBCS

PBCS documentation states that a maximum of 7 plan types can be created/used in a single PBCS application.(3-BSO,4-ASO)

Based on some interaction @ Kscope and reading Oracle blogs i got to know that in reality its only 3 BSO and 1 reporting ASO as the remaining 3 ASO cubes are actually tied to the 3 BSO cubes.

So if any users who have started using PBCS or the gurus please share their experience on this. Wanted to confirm if the 3 ASO cubes can be separated from the BSO cubes , meaning having different applications in each cube.
